With the motivation to address the structural inequalities and systemic vulnerabilities of individuals, institutions, ecosystems, and city development processes, Pune and Chennai were selected to join the 100 Resilient Cities (100RC) Network, pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation in 2016. Working with different socio-economic groups and a wide range of stakeholders to prepare for economic, social, and physical stresses and shocks, 100RC and Urban Resilience Unit have supported both cities in undertaking multiple initiatives towards resilience building.
